☕ Tell us a little about your journey with The Flour Pot Bakery
I began working for The Flour Pot Bakery in October of 2021, so I have been with the company for 5 years now. I started as a front of house employee, manning the till, serving customers and occasionally making a coffee if it was quiet. Fast forward 5 years and I am now one of the Coffee Technician and Trainers for the estate, in other words I make sure all of our coffee equipment is kept functioning and we are serving exceptional coffee, honouring the sourcing and roasting done by all the team at The Milk Shed - Coffee roastery.
☕ How has your role and career developed since you joined, and what opportunities have helped you get to where you are today?
I began to show an interest in the coffee side of things soon after joining, fascinated by the process of making a nice cup, I was eager to learn more about the whole process. My coffee training with Harry at the roastery is where it all really took off, his knowledge is infectious and made me want to know more and more. Since then I have worked at many industry events with The Milk Shed such as London Coffee Festival, where we get to showcase the amazing coffees we have to offer whilst also making connections within the industry.
☕ What have you enjoyed most about your journey with The Flour Pot Bakery?
I have most enjoyed the wide variety of people I have met and conversed with whilst working across the estate, its always a pleasant experience wherever I go. I have also enjoyed the support network and recognition I have received whilst working at The Flour Pot Bakery as there is always someone there to lend a hand when its needed, whatever the issue may be.
☕ What are you most proud of achieving during your time with us?
I am most proud of my achievement in becoming Coffee Technician and Trainer, coming from an engineering background I have always been fascinated by how things work/ how things are put together, and coffee machines fall right into that. Every day poses new challenges which I must find a solution for, helping me acquire more knowledge along the way.
☕ How would you describe the people, culture and working environment at The Flour Pot Bakery?
I would best describe us as a big family; although we are spread across the estate in lots of different locations, I always feel at home wherever I go and its nice to be able to chat to new or old faces and strike up friendships as I go.
☕ What would you say to someone considering joining The Flour Pot Bakery?
Absolutely go for it! There's a good reason people are queueing up to join the family and whatever your skillset or interests, there is a role that suits you at The Flour Pot Bakery.
